‘Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the shop
Not a technician was working, not even pushing a mop;
The sockets were placed in the drawers with such care,
In hopes that more customers soon would be there;
The manager was stressed running the numbers in his head,
“We need more customers!” is all that he all said;
And Service Advisors at their desk, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down to discuss our plan for just that.
When out in the bay there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
To the service bay door I flew like a dart,
Only to see a technician with a shiny new part.
The car in the bay, with the hood opened up,
Gave me the feeling that things were about to pick up.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a line of cars, with happy customers coming near,
Our Service Advisor, so lively and quick,
Knew exactly what to do, he was so slick,
He was firing on all cylinders, his customers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
“Now, ASHER! now, ALEXANDER! now, CHESTER and JEN!
Now, LYNETTE! now ALFRED now, COOPER and ANDERSEN!
Head to the courtesy shuttle! We will take care of you all!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
You may be wondering, what made all these customers come by,
The shop used a program they liked, called SI.
The manager sent a campaign in just a few clicks,
The result was amazing, customers came in without tricks.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard from the front counter,
The excitement and amazement from each individual customer.
That the shop would track each maintenance item with care,
Calculating each mile driven, so the customer was aware.
“Never buy a service pre-maturely” is what the service advisor said,
“And prepare for your maintenance without worry in your head”.
The customer understood the services “not due”,
And easily purchased the ones labeled “past due”.
The customers were clear, with the miles they had driven.
That the services would be aged, with the data that was given.
No more guessing or surprises of services past due,
The shop was informing them with red, black, and blue.
The customers cheered, and the shop saw remarkable success,
Because visiting the mechanic didn’t add extra stress.
The customers knew ahead of time what was needed,
The shop sold more services and their relationships succeeded.
